These incredible flowers light up the desert after rain. It is the floral symbol of South Australia. The brilliant red flower is symbol of hope after sorrow. Along with a connection to many Dreamtime stories of this theme, it is also known as the “Flower of Blood” after all the blood of the First Nations people that was spilt on this land.
