The crazy apparently random scribbles on the bark of certain eucalyptus trees was one of the great mysteries of the Australian bush. What are these marks that look like beautiful graffiti or as my visiting friend once described as Cy Twombly trees? They are in fact created by a hungry caterpillar of the aptly named the Scribbly Moth. Very plain and nondescript these caterpillars chew their way under the bark and then retrace their steps, eating the scar tissue produced by the tree. We’ve created high quality linens for your table that emulate one of Nature’s greatest abstract artists. Our linen is hand painted by Ajay ji, a wonderful artisan/artist to create the eucalyptus bark effect and then the scribbles are hand embroidered by our talents artisans.
