Native to the savannahs of South and Central America this extraordinary insectivorous mammal needs to be seen to be believed. Similar to an Echidna it breaks apart wood and digs up the ground with powerful front claws and then sucks up ants with its long tongue. Mothers carry their babies on their backs. Unfortunately like so many creatures they are in trouble due to habitat destruction.
