These flowers are technically not lotuses but are water lilies. They have the most incredible fragrance and colour. Very much inspired by the garden as they grow vigorously in the pond. Apparently they helped inspire the ancient Egyptians, who made tea from the dried flowers. The tea has a very mild narcotic, hallucinogenic effect that helps with sleep and vivid dreams. These coasters represent a fully open flower on a sunny day. The flowers close up every night.
