At WildGarden we love to incorporate the incredible biodiversity of life into our designs. Beetles make up a staggering 25 % or one quarter of all animal diversity. A famous quote by the evolutionary biologist J. Haldane about God as Creator, he noted that “God has an inordinate fondness for stars and beetles.” As well as playing an important role in their ecosystems, beetles also come in such beautiful shapes and colours. Our small cushion with four beetles quickly sold out, so we created the bigger, better version. Featuring sixteen large beetles, this cushion is sure to inspire conversations.
We have two options of cotton inserts for the cushion filling. Our alpaca fleece inserts come from local alpacas that are owned purely as pets. The alpaca insert is quite dense, ideal for sitting in either on a chair or on the floor. It still looks good on display on the couch. The duck feather inserts (ethically sourced from China by an Australian company) have a plump full look that really shows off the designs.
